1. Who we are
MatchMeter is an independent sports entertainment project operated in the United Kingdom. It helps visitors find matches worth watching without revealing results. For privacy questions or requests, contact us through the Contact & Feedback form.
2. Information we collect
When you browse
Our server and security providers may process technical information such as your IP address, requested page, date and time, browser or device information, referrer and security events. This is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse and investigate errors.
When you send feedback
We collect the feedback category, message, any page or match link you provide, your IP address and basic browser information. Your email address is optional and is collected only when you provide it so that we can reply.
Analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics may collect pseudonymous identifiers and information about pages viewed, approximate location, device and interactions. Google Analytics is not loaded until you give permission.
Support through Ko-fi
If you follow our support link, Ko-fi processes the payment and related information under its own privacy policy. MatchMeter does not receive or store your full card or payment credentials. Ko-fi may provide us with limited supporter information depending on the choices you make there.
3. Why we use information
We process essential technical information for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving MatchMeter. We process feedback to respond to requests, correct data, investigate problems and improve the service. Optional analytics is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through Cookie settings.
4. Service providers
Information may be processed by providers that help us operate the service, including our VPS hosting provider, Cloudflare for delivery, security and Turnstile, Google for consent-based Analytics and email delivery, and Ko-fi when you choose to use its website. These providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom under their own legal safeguards and privacy terms.
Sports data providers supply match information to MatchMeter; we do not intentionally send them feedback-form content or your email address.
5. Cookies and local storage
MatchMeter uses local storage to remember your spoiler preference and your analytics choice. These settings are needed to provide the choices you make. Google Analytics cookies are used only after you select “Allow analytics”. You can reject analytics or change your decision at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
6. How long we keep information
Feedback submissions and their associated technical information are kept for up to 12 months, then automatically deleted unless we need to retain a specific record for security, dispute resolution or a legal obligation. Routine server logs are normally retained for a shorter operational period. Google Analytics event data is retained for up to 14 months according to our Analytics settings; aggregated reports may remain for longer without directly identifying you.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to processing, or request a portable copy. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact us and explain your request so we can review it.
To exercise a right, use the feedback form. We may need enough information to locate your submission and confirm that the request relates to you.
If you are in the UK, you may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls, server-side validation, rate limiting, Cloudflare Turnstile and a bot trap to protect the feedback form. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please do not submit passwords, payment details or API keys.
9. Children
MatchMeter is a general sports entertainment service and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Please do not submit personal information through the feedback form if you are not able to consent to doing so.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the service, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version and update date will always be published on this page.
